Neither-Nor

When you use neither in a sentence, use nor to follow it, not or. Or is usually use to follow either. And while in the process of using neither-nor, the verb following neither must be in present tense. It is because neither is already negating the verb and so using past tense would be unnecessary and it is not the proper way to do it.

I understand that you might find this grammar 101 as something stupid but then again, I find it necessary for a few people. And they really need to get themselves back to grade school. They can’t even construct a single sentence! 😉

  9. hehe…. I know that one…. and I sometimes laugh (just at myself or silently) when I hear someone saying… neither, then OR.. 😛

  10. Chette,
I’m not into correcting spellings. I myself commit those mistakes sometimes. It’s the grammar for goodness sake! I don’t hate people speaking in preparatory type of English, but not in formal conversations. Look at our school for example, look at how many people could construct one, not two but one simple sentence correctly. And tell me if they are even half the population at least.
