Silhouette

The silhouette of your shadow,
I remember so clearly
Like it was real, so full of life.
But whenever I try touch it,
It quickly fades away
As if it was running from me.

Grief is eating me away
Little by little,
One piece at a time.
I’m tangled and trapped
In my own delusions
That I could see you again
When I wake up.
But all that’s left in me
Is the shadow of your memories
That I try hard to hold on to.
