The announcement of Rurouni Kenshin Live-action was a dream come true for every otaku. This was also very true with the Philippine fanbase. Every kid who grew up in the 90s know Rurouni Kenshin, though it’s more known to them as Samurai X. And this news just made them reminisce about their childhood and got all excited about wanting to watch the movie. One after the other, they started asking if Warner Bros Pictures Philippines will release Rurouni Kenshin. Heart break followed when Warner Bros Pictures Philippines replied that they have “no rights” for the said movie. The fans went on an uproar, spammed Warner Bros Pictures Philippine’s Facebook account with several messages and made petitions for the movie here and there.
And just when all hope is lost, an announcement was made by SM Cinema that they will be having Rurouni Kenshin Live-action in their cinemas soon. And after several weeks of patiently waiting, SM Cinema finally posted the showing of Rurouni Kenshin and the cinema and available dates followed.
The screening schedule for Rurouni Kenshin Live-action are the following:
- Cebu – December 5, 2012
- Mall Of Asia – December 5-9, 2012
- Megamall – December 5, 2012
- North Edsa – December 5-9, 2012
I was supposed to post this last Friday, but back then, the only screening was at SM Megamall with only 4 schedules namely 11:00 AM , 1:45 PM , 4:30 PM , 7:15 PM , 10:00 PM. I wanted to wait a while just in case it would be available in other dates as well as the on other SM Cinema branches. Fortunately, SM Cebu, Mall of Asia and North Edsa screenings and schedules popped up over the weekend. However, SM Megamall only has 1 date.
There’s no going back! You can’t take this back. I’ll definitely go on a rampage and randomly kill people if you do. Oh and see you guys on December 5 for a grand otaku reunion! 😀

I’m really excited for this too! My friend and I already bought our tickets around late of October and we’re watching it on December 8th!
