Troublesome Disease

Just a recap, in case you didn’t know yet, I got this type of skin disease/allergy without a definite cause and treatment that takes 2-8 weeks to heal, or so I was told. As far as last 2 weeks is concerned, I was relying on some antihistamine and 2 lotion-based solutions given by my dermatologist. And yes, I do have a dermatologist. In fact, I visit my dermatologist more often than I visit a physician. I get allergic reaction to random stuff more often than I get sick.

So I was scheduled to go back to the doctor this afternoon. And I got a new batch of prescription from her. This time, my medications are scheduled. For example tonight, I have to take 5 tablets, tomorrow morning, after breakfast, I need to take 5, 2 after lunch and 2 after dinner. Then the next day is the same amount of medicines, and on the next day after that, it’s 5-2-1, and so on… She also changed one of the other lotion-based medicine she gave me. So all in all, I’ll be taking 2 types of medicine tablets now and apply 2 solutions 5-10 times a day, at the same time.

What a troublesome disease this is. *facepalm*

  1. i swear i have some skin allergy or something too. man~~i should go see a dermatologist x____x;;
    but eek, that is annoying.

  2. Do you have a list of stuff that triggers your allergies? It might be helpful if you can actually list them. Also, medications you take and how long before they take effect. Consulting another dermatologist might also give you better answers.

  3. randell,
    I’m only allergic to alcohol as far as food allergies are concerned. And so far, the only thing I know of that triggers my current allergies is sunlight/heat of the sun. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m totally allergic to the sun. It’s really troublesome especially when going to work. T^T

  4. Oh dear. x_X
    I hope you won’t forget… When I’m out and about, I sometimes forget my meds (though I usually catch myself)… And when I’m studying overnight, I forget until my mind kicks me randomly at 4am. XD

    I hope your skin gets better! My dad had terrible skin disease…but it got better when he moved to America…
    Maybe you should move to America. 😛

  5. wow. that REALLY sucks T_T i do hope it goes away!!! i have this skin condition too, i forgot the name, but there isnt a definite cure either, and its itchy and if you scratch it, it spreads ;o;

  6. Sese,
    It’s not skin asthma. I don’t think it’s genetic because I’m the only one who has that in the family. I think it has something to do with the weather recently. XD

    Hiro,
    Yeah, I always forget to take my medicines, but when it itch, I remember them. 😛

    Ravencroft,
    Haha! Nah, I’m a pure blood. It’s just the sun~ XD

    Ade,
    *hugs back*

    Sapphire,
    Yeah, I think most allergies goes like that – the more you scratch them, the more they spread. Try taking antihistamines to lessen the itch. 🙂

    Kimmy,
    Yeah, I hope so too… T^T

  7. That stinks. It stinks even more that you have to take THAT many pills, that is a lot especially if you are the type of person that does not like taking pills. Get well soon!
